Agora of Zuba Chiefdom in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, HRH Mohammed Bello Umar, has called on Koro indigenes of the territory and across the country to continue to remain united as one family.
He also urged them to continue to sustain the Koro culture and traditions, which he lamented were fast going into extinction due the world globalization.
Alhaji Umar, made the call at the annual Koro cultural festival/unveiling of Koro national attire, which was held at Zuba, over the weekend.
He noted that human history and artefacts are fast dying along with the memories and tacit knowledge of the individuals who are either dead or eroded by religious affiliation.

According to him, organising the Koro national festival will not only serve as inspiration for the new generation to know of their history, traditions and culture but that their heritage and artifacts needed to be preserved.
The monarch, while appreciating both the past and present executives of the Association of Koro Communities of Nigeria (AKOCON) for organizing the event, appealed to government to carry the Koro people across the country along in the scheme of things.
Also speaking, the Agaba of Jiwa, HRH Alhaji Idris Musa, said for any society to witness rapid development, there was need for people irrespective of tribe, religion or ethnicity to remain united as one entity.
He said Koro people who were among the nine tribes that are part of the indigenes of the FCT, are peace-loving and accommodative, while calling on every individual to shun tribal and religious sentiments and come together as one people.
On his part, the national president of AKOCON, Alhaji Kashim Mohammed Zuba, said the Koro annual cultural festival was organized in order to bring all the Koro speaking tribes not only in FCT but also in Niger, Nasarawa and Kaduna together to showcase Koro culture and traditions.
