The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) FCT chapter last week commenced three months intensive training on Environmental Beautification Scheme (EBTS) for  25 unemployed youths in the FCT.
Speaking at the training programme at FCT NDE  office, Acting Director- General of NDE, Mr. Olakunle Obayan, said that the choice of specialized training on soft land scaping and hard land scaping was carefully designed to align the trainees with the current demands of the general economic activities of our society.
He said that the NDE would continue to evolve new schemes in its various departments to combat the menace of unemployment in the country, adding that the training would also impact specialized and marketable skills on the targeted unemployed youths, better equipping them and enhancing their chances of being employed or becoming entrepreneurs.
He solicited for the support of stakeholders at the vanguard of youth empowerment, especially owners of medium and small businesses where the beneficiaries would be posted for training and the local authorities to see them as their own and join in nurturing and mentoring them to be fully established as entrepreneurs.
The NDE helmsman  also  implored the selected master trainers to diligently transfer the required technology to the beneficiaries of the programe by ensuring the delivery of high quality training they are known for.
