The FCT National Directorates of Employment (NDE) on Thursday commenced the recruitment and training of 20 trainees. The training coordinated by the Vocational Skill Development of NDE is designed to bridge the skills gap between the current level of training under Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) and the next level of advanced training.
Speaking at the training programe, FCT NDE Coordinator, Lady Edna Ngoze Offordile, said that the training will last for two months and is aimed at acquainting skilled persons with modern methods of service delivery in specific trade which they had acquired through B-NOAS.
She said the trainess would be trained by well estabslihed corporate trainers in four different skills set, including interiors decoration, fashion design, catering and computer repairs( ICT).
“The NDE management is determined to keep a tab on prospective A-NOAS scheme graduates in order to ascertain those who will secure wage employment, become self –employed or under employed in the long run,” she said.
