The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory Council, Grace Ike, has restated her commitment to building trust, enhancing professionalism, and bolstering credibility within the media space.

Ike stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja, on the sidelines of the 2026 First Quarter Induction ceremony for new members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

NAN reports that Ike was among 421 newly inducted members of the Institute.

“This moment marks not just a personal milestone, but a bridge between my roots in journalism and my journey into the dynamic world of public relations,” Ike said. “Communication is the lifeblood of society; it is about building trust, changing narratives, and driving positive change.”

She noted that her membership would deepen her commitment to strategic communication, specifically in the areas of reputation management, image-making, and crisis intervention.

“I am honored to be inducted into the Institute. I believe I will contribute significantly to building trust and shifting the narrative. We must ensure we contribute our quota as champions of national integrity and credibility,” she added. (NAN)
