FCT perm-sec urges Muslims to pray for Buhari

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, has called on the residents, especially Muslims, to use the occasion of the Eid el-Fitr celebration signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadan, to pray for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office.

The perm-sec made the call in his Sallah message to the residents of the FCT. He also enjoined them to use the occasion to pray for peace, harmony and prosperity of Nigeria.

Sir Ohaa also assured FCT residents that the administration would ensure the security of lives and property during the Eid festivities and enjoined them to be alert and report to law enforcement agencies any attempt to breach the peace.

He commended the people for their peaceful conduct during the inauguration ceremony of President Buhari on May 29th and urged them to, in the same spirit, conduct themselves during the Democracy Day celebrations which will hold on June 12.

He reminded the residents that the city of Abuja would be playing host to a number of foreign dignitaries during the Democracy Day celebrations, saying it was an opportunity to showcase the great hospitality that Nigerians were known for.

Ohaa called on the people to keep their residences clean and be courteous to all those they come in contact with.

He urged motorists and other road users to obey traffic regulations and avoid over speeding and beating traffic lights.

The permanent secretary also commended the people for their peaceful co-existence saying it signified the unity of Nigerians which is the principle on which the FCT was founded.

Sir Ohaa pledged the commitment of the FCTA to the provision of amenities, utilities and infrastructure that will add value to the lives of residents. He prayed for spiritually fulfilling and memorable Sallah celebrations.
