The FCT police command has in the months of August and September recovered eleven firearms and some live ammunition from suspected armed robbers terrorizing parts of the FCT.

The FCT commissioner of police Muhammad Mustafa disclosed this in a press briefing recently where he reviewed the performance of the command within the period.

He said the weapons were recovered from 36 suspects intercepted and arrested by the police at various stop and search points mounted by the police in different locations within the FCT.

Other items recovered from the suspects who are currently in police custody included 2 trucks, 4 cars, 3 plasma TV sets, 2 laptops, 7 handsets and 2 jack knives.

Others are 2 master keys, 5 gas cylinders, N328, 000 and 2 wraps of Indian hemp among others.

The police commissioners who commended his men for the success recorded assured the residents of the federal capital of adequate security especially during the ember months.

He said the command has fortified security at both exit and entry points to the city.

"I want to reassure FCT residents that the command has drawn up an operation order that will handle the provision of security during the ember months.

"The command has fortified security at all the entry and exit points connecting the FCT with other states such as Nasarawa, Kaduna, Niger and Kogi.
