FCT police restrict vehicular movement on election day

Ahead of the Saturday 23rd February 2019 rescheduled general elections, the FCT Police Command has informed members of the public that there will be restriction of vehicular movement across the Federal Capital Territory as from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

A statement by the command’s spokesman DSP Anjuguri Manzah, however, said ambulances, fire service trucks and other people on essential duties will be exempted from the enforcement.

He further said that a joint operations comprising all security agencies has been set up to monitor the conduct of the election in the FCT and to attend to distress calls through 09052397880, 08024130926, 09051488448 and 07014951751.

According to him the joint operations centre hotlines are to complement the existing police emergency numbers via 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
