Ahead of next year’s council polls in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bwari Area Council has received about over 2,000 people who decamped from their political parties.

The FCT APC Chairman, Mallam Abdulmalik Usman, who received the decampees, urged them to work for the success of the party at the polls, adding that they would all be treated fairly by the party.

He warned that the party would not tolerate anti-party activities and assured that APC members in the council would be considered for appointments.

Earlier, party Chairman in the council, Aliyu Tanko Shere, assured the new members of equal opportunity in the party.

He said the party would work to win the forthcoming election and restore the dilapidating infrastructure in the council.

The decampees, mostly from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, who spoke with City News, attributed their action to non-performance by the present administration in the area, as well as politics of exclusion being played in the council.
