The Country Representative of Westmister Foundation for Democracy (WFD), Adebowale Olorunmola, has urged residents of the FCT, especially women and youths, to have trust in the electoral process.

Olorunmola said the residents should have confidence in the electoral process so that they would be able to go out and vote and believe their votes would count.

He made this known while sensisitising the residents at the Wuse Market and other strategic locations in Abuja, and appealed to them to pick up their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in order to fully participate in the electoral process.

“Residents need to know that they don’t have to be involved in violence and they should not be induced or allow their votes to be bought,” he said.

“This is a methodology that we have tagged Peer to Peer Voters’ Education (PPVE). We are working with the corps members and INEC to reach out to young people in and out of school to let them know that they are stakeholders in the electoral process. They need to go and collect their PVC and to also keep it to use it in an informed way,” he said.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) officials from the FCT INEC office collaborated in the sensitization exercise.
