In commemoration of International Women’s Day, a non-governmental organization (NGO), Women-In Renewable Energy Associations (WIRE-A), in collaboration with Happy Stoves and Power Stoves, has held an awareness campaign in Gofe community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT to sensitise the women on the need to adopt clean cooking method.

Speaking during the awareness campaign on Saturday, the WIRE-A’s Vice President, Dr Anita Adeyemi Okuribido, urged more women to actively engage in the value chain through the training in order to scale up the impacts on humanity.

In her goodwill message, the national President of WIRE-A, Chief Anita Okuribido, expressed happiness for the awareness campaign, while commending the chairman of the association’s energy transition committee, Dr Amina Batagarawa and her team for putting in place such project in Gofe community.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of free stoves to over 100 rural women that were trained in the process of producing their own briquettes.
