Chairman of the FCT Scholarship Board, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has said students of the territory deserve bursary increase, assuring that the board was working with the FCT Administration to that effect.

Giri, who spoke during an interview with newsmen in his office last Friday, in Abuja, also urged government to look into high school fees in public and private schools in the FCT.

He said the board members would not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the objectives of establishing the board were achieved to serve the students better.

He said since the board was inaugurated, impediments  that stopped the members from functioning well had been removed to pave way for effective service delivery.

The board chairman lamented that the people of the FCT were left behind in terms of education, which he said had bred poverty on a large scale and youth restiveness.
