Worried by the lingering strike by the primary school teachers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the leadership of Gwako Students’ Union in Gwagwalada Area Council has organised a tutorial for pupils of LEA Primary School in the community.
Abuja Metro reports that the teachers have been on strike since March over what they called non -payment of their backlogs of arrears and other entitlements by the six area councils’ chairmen.
Efforts to resolve the issue by the relevant stakeholders had yielded no result with pupils roaming the streets in different communities.
President of the Gwako 1 CommunityStudents Association (GCSA), Comrade Ibrahim Sadiq, who flagged off the tutorial at LEA Primary School, Gwako 1 community on Saturday, said the tutorials would keep the pupils abreastand divert their attention from engaging in any form of social vices in the community.

According to him, the tutorials, which he said would last for one month, will involve pupils from primary one to six.
