The association of organised market men and women in the Federal Capital Territory has expressed their support to President Muahhmad Buhari’s determination to diversify the economy with a focus on agriculture in  view to create more opportunity for women and the youth.
President of the association, Mrs Sarauniya Erondy, said in Abuja, that with planned virile agricultural sector, it would be wrong for any market women group to say the president has marginalized women and the youth in his policy so far.
‘’The president has pledged to focus on sectors like agriculture and at the same time pledged a deliberate policy that would help to assist marketers and the youth and we have confidence that he would do it for us. So the claim by the Iyaloja of Lagos that the president has not been carrying women along is uncalled for now,’’ she said.
She said it was wrong for the Iyaloja to refer to their group as association of organised people created by some women leaders, saying their group was formed by market leaders in all the six area councils in the FCT.
‘’The Iyaloja was misinformed that our association was formed by the PDP, again, this is wrong because the association worked for the APC during the last election and we are presently a critical component of APC campaign structure for the forthcoming council poll,’’ she said.
