The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has clinched the first prize of the 2016 edition of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Annual National Quiz Competition held in Abuja.
FCT emerged as winner with 135 points followed by Akwa Ibom which clinched the second prize with 125 points and then Lagos with 110 points, Jigawa with 100 points, Abia with 90 points and Yobe with 70 points.
The contestants who represented the FCT – Master Aniagoh William, Anyacho Sopuruchukwu and Nwokolo David, would enjoy N300,000 bursaries throughout their education up to the first degree level.
Speaking at the grand finale, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, said the competition has lived up to its objective of generating interest in science and technology among Nigerian youth.
