Children from schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have called on leaders to do everything possible to promote peace in the country.

They made the call at a programme to mark the World Peace Day organised by the Katherine Parker Initiative for Peace which held in Abuja yesterday.

One of the children from the Cuddle School, Muhammad Hanif Tahum, said: “I want to tell our leaders to keep trying their best and give all they can so we can have more peace in the nation.”

The founder of the Initiative, Mrs. Eki Agorom, said the aim of marking the day was to create awareness that peace building should be the core value of every society.

Miss Ambassador for Peace South West, Miss Serena Joseph, said a nation without peace cannot stand together, adding that every individual must stand as an advocate of peace.
