The FCT Youth Network, a section of the Abuja Original Indigenous Youth Empowerment (AOIYE), has organised a debate for aspirants vying for offices in the network across the six area councils of the territory.
The elections are slated for July 30.
The Project Coordinator of AOIYEO, Mr Bitrus Lawrence, while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, said the debate was for the aspirants to tell the people of the FCT what they planned to do when elected.
According to him, the FCT Youth Network has the structure to serve as a medium for engagement with government, Civil Society Organisations (CSO), among others, to address the challenges affecting the original inhabitants.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of AIYEO, Commandant Isaac David, said the FCT Youth Network would help the original inhabitants to speak with one voice and ensure unison, as well as engage government diplomatically.
