It is surprising that the FCT administration would rather pretend ignorance of the incessant traffic hold-ups along the Nyanya-Mararaba (Abuja-Keffi) expressway being used by motorists and travellers ffrom different parts of the country. To worsen the situation, soldiers and policemen most times mount arbitrary check points that make motorists spend hours before getting to their places of work and other destinations. It is laughable that the FCT administration is trading blames on the  hold-ups, instead of opening up alternative routes like the abandoned Apo- Karshi road.

No to CBN on cashless policy

I wish to support the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in rejecting the new policy on cash deposits and withdrawals recently announced by the CBN. I feel the new policy which has affected charges on deposits and withdrawals above N500,000 for individuals is unacceptable  because it reduces savings in favour of government, the same way as government introduced VAT to increase poverty among Nigerians. These are very wicked decisions coming from a government that claims to represent and protect Nigerians.

Give Rohr chance to build a strong team

I am impressed with Super Eagles chief coach Rohr’s effort at building a formidable national team by inviting good players from all over the world to fortify the team. On this note I appeal to the football authorities to please give Rohr a free hand to do the job and make Nigeria proud again as Clemence Westahof did. Westerhof was given a free hand and he invited very good players that took Nigeria to great heights in football. Goodluck to Rohr and the Super Eagles. Goodluck to the new sports minister, Sunday Dare.

Please act on ‘One-chance’ robbers now

The rising cases of kidnapping and ‘One-chance’ robberies in the FCT and suburbs is a growing cause for concern. This is despite some arrests and parading of some suspects by the police. May be the non-prosecution of those arrested is a challenge the authorities concerned have to look into. The people should not be pushed to take laws into their hands by engaging in ‘jungle justice’.
