The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has endorsed the just concluded election of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the FCT and called on the new executive members to work towards uniting the youths in the territory.
FCTA’s Social Development Secretariat, in its congratulatory message to the state chapter, urged them to be transparent in running the affairs of the council, adding that they should also “reposition the organization to live up to its mandate.”
Shaka Sunday, Head, Media and Public Relations Unit of the FCT Social Development Secretariat told journalists in Abuja that the Mandate Secretary of FCT Social Development Secretariat, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Kabir, “rejoices with Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Ango for emerging as the chairman of the FCT chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria for a second tenure.’’
He said a Deputy Director in the Secretariat as well as representatives of the Department of State Security, the Nigerian Police and the Civil Defense Corps monitored the elections which they both confirmed to be free, fair and credible.
Announcing the outcome of the result earlier, Ambassador Abdulrazak Shaibu, Chairman of the 8-man electoral committee, declared Comrade Suleiman Abdullah Ango, who was unopposed as the chairman of the FCT Chapter of the organisation.
In his acceptance speech, the FCT NYCN chairman, Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Ango, appreciated his opponent, Ahmadu Yusuf and the delegates for the confidence they have him, assuring that he and other executives of the council would not let them down.
