FCTA’s focus is based on infrastructure — Minister

The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, said one of the main focuses of the FCT administration is to develop more infrastructure.

The minister made this disclosure last week in Abuja when he briefed newsmen during a conference on his scorecard so far in the last two years in office.

Bello, while taking stock of completed infrastructural projects in the Federal Capital Territory, revealed that there would be more achievements to be unveiled in the next two years.

He added that over N73bn had been paid to both local and foreign contractors, as well as the completion of the obligation of N17.4bn for the Phase 1 of the Abuja Light Rail project which had saved jobs and improved the economy.

“Significant progress has been made towards completing major road projects both within and outside the city centre: as we all know, completion of these roads will enable allotees develop their plots, improve city skyline and boost the vibrancy of the FCT economy,” he said.

Besides other known projects, the minister also disclosed that the administration would soon commence construction of the 55km OSEX (Outer Southern Express Road) leading from Apo/Wasa to Gwagwalada through Kuje.
