The minister restated commitment to uplifting the standard of living of the less-privileged residents in the territory through partnership with credible donor organizations such as the World Bank.
He denied reports in the media that his administration recently threatened to disband FCT Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP).
CSDP is concerned with the empowerment of communities to develop, implement and monitor micro-social infrastructure projects, including natural resource management interventions as well as strengthening of the skills and capacity of grassroots tiers of government to support communities with a view to improving their standard of living.
He said it is in furtherance of this goal that his administration recently set up the CSDP as a vehicle for partnering with the world financial institutions towards bringing development to the doorsteps of far-flung rural dwellers in FCT.
He advised the CSDP board to assiduously work towards getting the counterpart contribution from the World Bank to be released on time for work to start.
Mohammed described the CSDP as a well conceived grassroots empowerment initiative saying, “The FCT Administration under my watch will continue to support any programme or project in conformity with the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan because Mr. President sent me here to represent him.
“For the singular reason that the project has been designed to sustainably increase access of poor people to social, natural resources and infrastructure services across the entire territory, the administration will continue to support it.”
