FCTA strengthens human development with STEAM initiative

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has said that it is committed to human development and inclusion through the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) initiative. 

Speaking during Week 4 of the ongoing STEAM Camp in Karmajiji, Abuja, the FCTA Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, expressed her secretariat’s gratitude to Professor Hauwa Ibrahim of the Peace Institute for her collaboration, as well as to the young adults from America and Rome, who volunteered their time and resources to help build the capacity of vulnerable children in the FCT.

She said that the STEAM project was a testament to the political will of FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, to support and implement the Universal Inclusion Instrument, hence that the Week 4 of the camp was particularly special because it was taking place in Karmajiji; a community of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

The Sarkin Karmajiji, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Katsina, expressed gratitude for the intervention and prayed that the children of his community would attain the height reached by Professor Hauwa who was once a child hawker.
