The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has promised to provide clean water to the Zuba community and critical infrastructure to other areas within the Gwagwalada Area Council.

Wike made the pledge during a visit to stakeholders in Gwagwalada on Wednesday. He expressed disappointment that the Zuba community still lacks access to clean water and vowed to prioritize the issue. “You have talked about water. I feel so bad that you don’t have water in Zuba. What I will tell you is that you should consider it done,” the Minister said. 

However, he also managed expectations regarding other needs, adding, “To be frank, all the things you have mentioned cannot be solved at the same time. So, choose the ones you think are most important to the people.” (NAN)

The minister noted that although the chairman-elect, Mr. Kasim Mohammed, won the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he expects him to support President Tinubu as part of a “rainbow coalition” for the benefit of the people. 

Commending the residents for electing Mohammed, whom he described as a “very hard-working” man, Wike urged the community to cooperate with the local leadership. 

“I will work with him to make sure that we provide infrastructure to Gwagwalada communities,” he stated.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Wike said “This turnout indicates how happy you are. When we came here during the campaign, we said, ‘Vote for us,’ and you have done it. So, it is our duty now to pay you back.” (NAN)
