The Acting Director of the FCT Fire Service, Sani Saidu, has disclosed plans by the FCT Administration to establish three more fire stations in the territory for effective service delivery.

The Acting Director, who was speaking during a chat with City News in his office, said one of the new stations would be located in Apo Resettlement Area, one in Kaura district and the other one in Utako district, adding that the process would be completed by first quarter of next year.

He said the Service is well equipped and can boast of 32 fire fighting vehicles strategically positioned across the territory for timely response. 

Mallam Saidu added that the Service’s response to any emergency call in any part of the territory is within five minutes, and urged members of the public to always contact the Service on 09-2906118 when there is a fire crisis.

On the recent fire incident in Kubwa, the Fire Service boss said his men responded on time which helped to minimize the casualties both to human and property.

He thanked the FCT Water Board for ensuring water access to the Service at all times and appealed to the residents to always be safety conscious to safeguard their lives and properties.
