FCT’s Mohammed returns as Edeh elected Benue FA Chairman

The Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has been returned unopposed for another term in office.
In the 2023 FCT FA election which was held yesterday in Bwari Area Council, the former NFF presidential candidate who entered the race as the sole candidate received all 12 votes to secure another term of four years.
However, his first vice-chairman, Hon. Saliu Kolo, who went into the race unopposed, was rejected by the delegates as he couldn’t obtain the required seven votes.
While he managed to get five ‘yes’ votes, seven said no to his re-election bid.
Others elected into the board of the FCT FA were former Flying Eagles assistant coach, Samuel Abimbola, a former Flying Eagles midfielder, Femi Ajilore, Babatunde Nelson, Ngozi Ezeh, Ayegba Pat Ajuma and Future Eagles coach, Patrick Bassey.
In his inaugural speech, Mouktar Mohammed commended the electoral committee for organising a free, fair and credible election.
In a chat with Trust Sports, the astute football administrator said “I am happy that my commitment to football development in the FCT has earned me another term.
“I consider this as a call for more service to football in the FCT and Nigeria as a whole. I will build on the numerous achievements we have recorded so far for more positive results.”
Meanwhile, the president of Ratels Sports Development Foundation (RSDF) and owner of Naija Ratels FC, Barrister Paul Edeh, also emerged as the next Chairman of the Benue State Football Association.
In yesterday’s election which was held in Makurdi, the sports philanthropist garnered 28 votes out of 29 to defeat his closest rival, Chief Godwin Koko Uwua, a former Super Eagles assistant coach.
Addressing the press after his victory, Edeh promised to transform football in Benue State from the cadet level to senior level.
He also promised to eradicate corruption in the running of football in the state.
