The first leg of the qualifiers played in Mauritius ended 2-0 in favour of the Eagles. Eagles opened scoring in the 4th minute through Omoh Ojabu. The host piled up pressure on the visitors and increased the tally when dazzling winger Terry Envoh struck in the 38th minute.
The scanty crowd expected more goals from the home lads but were disappointed as the visitors maintained their resistance till the referee’s whistle went for the end of the half.
In the second half, the Highlanders reduced the tally and that brought back life into the match with the trio of Eagles Stanley Okoro, Terry Envoh and Abdul Ajagun making concerted efforts to score more goals.
Efforts made by Eagles yielded no result as the fans waited in vain for more goals to come.
