The semi-final lineup for the women’s category of the 2026 President Federation Cup has been confirmed following a thrilling quarter-final round that produced dramatic penalty shootouts and narrow victories across the country.

Heartland Queens secured their place in the last four after edging Ibom Angels 4-2 on penalties following an entertaining 2-2 draw in regulation time.

Chimebere Opara handed the Owerri-based side the lead in the 12th minute before Umejiaku Oluebube doubled the advantage six minutes into the second half.

However, Ibom Angels mounted a spirited comeback through Miriam Okocha in the 66th minute and Happiness Agboye, who restored parity in the 76th minute. Heartland Queens held their nerve in the ensuing shootout to progress.

 At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Sunshine Queens booked a first Federation Cup semi-final appearance since 2015 after defeating Confluence Queens 1-0.

Owoseni Oluwabulola’s 18th-minute strike proved decisive for the Akure-based side, who displayed discipline and resilience throughout the encounter.

Sunshine Queens thought they had doubled their lead through Mistura Olamilekan from the penalty spot, but the effort was ruled out for an infringement before the kick was taken.

In another tightly contested affair, Nasarawa Amazons overcame Edo Queens 5-3 on penalties after both sides played out a goalless draw in regulation time.

The Lafia-based club converted all four of their spot-kicks, while Edo Queens missed one attempt to hand the Amazons a place in the semi-finals.

Elsewhere, FC Robo produced one of the surprises of the round with a slender 1-0 victory over seven-time champions Rivers Angels.

The semi-finals will see Sunshine Queens face Nasarawa Amazons, while Heartland Queens and FC Robo battle for a place in the final as the race for the prestigious trophy intensifies.
