FCT Emergency Management Agency(FEMA), has began what it called hazard and vulnerability mapping of the nation’s capital, to determine areas prone to natural hazards for necessary action.

The Director-General of FEMA, Alhaji Abbas Idriss made this known in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday in Abuja.

Idriss explained that the mapping would enable the agency have adequate preparedness and response strategies to disasters management.

He also said that the measure would help in adequate planning by all stakeholders especially on town planning and development.

According to him, hazard and vulnerability mapping will enable the agency send specific early warning to specific area vulnerable to the risks.

The director-general disclosed that already the Consultancy Project has been awarded to professionals who had been tested on similar job.(NAN)
