Female military veterans have donated food and other items to the Darlez Care Orphanage, Area 8, Abuja, to mark the one-year anniversary of the Female Military Veterans Association (FMVA).

Mrs. Grace Morenike Henry, the first female chairman of the Nigerian Legion, at the occasion, said the gesture was also to mark World Veterans Day, commemorated every November 11 as a show of respect for fallen heroes.

She said a veterans’ village and a veterans’ farm will soon be established in Abuja to cater for the teeming number of families of fallen soldiers, whom she called upon to close ranks and come together to fight for their rights.

Mrs. Grace Morenike Henry, who is also the Coordinator and Pioneer of the FMVA, said under her administration, no veteran will be left behind, and called on Legionnaires to go to their respective state branches and register.

President Bola Tinubu, in June 2025, appointed Grace Morenike Henry (JP) as Chairman of the National Council of the Nigerian Legion, making her the first woman in the nation’s history to lead the veteran organization.
