Unidentified assailants fatally stabbed an NCE III female student of Gombe State College of Education, in the Billiri Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.

Daily Trust learnt that the killers traced the student to her room in a private hostel located at the Zazzagawa quarters of Billiri town.

A resident of the area said the deceased who hailed from Baganje town of Billiri LGA was killed early Sunday morning by yet-to-be-identified persons, who fled the scene after killing the woman.

Gombe State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

He said the police have launched an investigation while the remains of the late Miss Yusuf were deposited at a mortuary pending the outcome of the probe.
