Afro-beat King, Femi Anikulapo Kuti has been signed into the Chocolate City Music label and has a new album already in the works from months before, Chocolate City Group President, Audu Maikori said.
He told Daily Trust that Kuti has in fact been signed unto the company’s label since November last year and went on his European tour after completing an American tour.
Maikori who was with them during the tour said they were well received and it was “a fantastic experience” with the afro-beat star performing alongside his first son who is a professional musician, a base guitarist tilted towards classical music.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper last year, when talking about his relationship with his ex-wife, Funke, Kuti mentioned how their son, Made, was playing piano well and sees him as his inheritor and next Anikulapo to take the music to another level.
Fans across the country have kept their ears to the ground to hear the latest development since Kuti and Chocolate City, one of Africa’s top recording labels, started contract proceedings last year.
Kuti had made the announcement on his twitter account and said he signed a management deal with the music label because the organisation has great ideas.
