Sulayman, who stated this in Abuja, lamented that the number of mercenaries taking part in the games has continued to multiply, with last year’s figure being the highest in history.

Though he noted that the invasion of mercenaries in the workers games is the only problem FEPGA is yet to find a cure for it, he assured that fresh ideas and methods are being worked out to ensure that the monster is completely eliminated from the games.

“The issue of wiping out mercenaries from the games is one area we have not done well in it. In fact, it is one sickness we are yet to find a cure for it, but we will try to nip it in the bud with the use of fresh ideas and methods.

“This is something we are going to take very seriously because anything to the contrary would make nonsense of everything we are trying to achieve. This is workers games and we cannot fold our hands and watch outsiders hijack the games from us”, he maintained.
