The repairs are going on well and this would no doubt, reduce accidents being recorded on a daily basis. The people of Lere, Kauru, Kubau and Soba Local Government Areas as well as the other users of the road would, of course, heave a sigh of relief as they are the worst affected by the physical and mechanical injuries inflicted by the once dilapidated road on its users.

However, the prompt attention which the road is now receiving from FERMA, would not have been possible without the intervention of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Arc Muhammad Namadi Sambo, who was disturbed about the poor condition of the road.

The effective supervision of the repair work as well as the seriousness that the FERMA workers attach to the rehabilitation exercise is enough to please constant users of the road like me. It is no doubt that government can earn the loyalty of its citizens if it discharges its obligations properly. One of such obligations is provision of social amenities.

At this juncture, I would like to appeal to motorist to avoid speeding and reckless driving on the rehabilitated road. I have observed that the rehabilitation work has provided speeding and reckless driving opportunities to some motorists. It should be noted that just as bad roads kill, over speeding also does same. Therefore, obeying traffic rules and regulations has become a must for all of us.

I would like to appeal to the Kaduna State governor to consider the rehabilitation of the Soba-Ikara road. This road has also been in a very bad condition for a long time now. The vital role which the road plays in the movement of people and goods, cannot be overemphasized. Residents of Ikara and Soba, who are predominantly farmers, rely on the road to transport their farm produce. To the people of Soba and Ikara, the road is everything to them because it is their only link with  other communities in the state. Apart from that, the economic and social activities of the people of these two areas can be raised if the road is put in good shape. It is also a known fact that Soba and Ikara local government areas have for many years, supported the Kaduna State government policies, especially after the return of the present democratic dispensation. To achieve the rehabilitation of this road, the members representing these local governments at boththe  state and the Federal Assemblies have to contribute their quota as they are in a better position to appreciate what this road is to the people at the grassroots.
