Portugal midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has equaled the English Premier League assist record as Manchester United overcame Nottingham Forest 3-2 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Fernandes provided his 20th assist of the season to equal the record jointly held by Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne on United’s final home game of the season.
The midfielder set up Bryan Mbeumo for the third goal that doubled United’s lead, after Matheus Cunha had restored the home side’s lead.
Morato had also cancelled Luke Shaw’s early opener in the first half.

Shaw’s long range strike had put United ahead but Morato’s header cancelled the opener. A contentious handball was overlooked by VAR in the buildup to Cunha’s second half goal, before Fernandes crossed for Mbeumo to slot home and put Michael Carrick’s side 3-1 up.
Morgan Gibbs-White scored a second for Forest who could not force a late winner as Man United claimed all three points, and the Red Devils will finish the season in third place for the first time in three seasons.
Fernandes will have the last match of the season to break the record first set by Henry in 2002/03 season and equaled by de Bruyne in the 2019/20 season.
