President Bola Tinubu has set up N100 billion in the 2024 budget for school feeding projects.
This declaration was made at the State House in Abuja during the signing of the 2024 appropriation bill into law.
Tinubu emphasized that the provision was aimed at incentivizing school attendance and address the issue of out-of-school children, as well as to encourage student involvement in educational institutions.
“One of the priorities of the bill we just passed is the N100 billion provision for school feeding. That, I believe, is a stimulant that will boost school enrollment while also addressing childhood malnutrition.

“I’ll be meeting with local governments at the sub-national levels so that we can collaborate and jointly implement an all-inclusive program,” the President said.
Tinubu had signed an order in December directing the relocation of the school feeding initiative from the Humanitarian Ministry to the Education Ministry.
Previously suspended during the reign of former President Muhammadu Buhari, the programme will now be run by the Education Ministry.
