The Federal Government has hailed the election of Most Reverend Musa Filibus as the first Nigerian president of Lutheran World Federation (LWF).
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who conveyed the message at a reception in Yola, tasked Christian leaders to emulate the celebrant and preach peace and unity among the various groups in the country.
“It is our role as Christians to bind people together and we must do so by self -sacrifice and love,” Osinbajo said.
In his remark, 57-year-old Musa Filibus vowed to make Nigeria proud by being a good ambassador.
Filibus who comes from Yolde-Gubudo in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa is the first Nigerian and second African to ascend to the Presidency of the LWF since the group was founded in 1947.
