The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe landing for Boko Haram insurgents who renounce the terrorist group.
A statement issued in Borno State by the Military Command and Control Center (MCCC), signed by the Theatre Command’s Spokesman, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu in Maiduguri Saturday, said, “This disposition was further strengthened today as the 70 Boko Haram insurgents who recently surrendered to troops were formally handed over to Commander Operation Safe Corridor for immediate commencement of the de-radicalization and rehabilitation processes. In consonance with this window of opportunity provided for insurgents who are willing to surrender, the Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole hereby calls on all Boko Haram insurgents to be bold, reject and abandon the hypocritical leadership of the sect who live in affluence while their foot soldiers die in hunger.”
