The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu last Thursday inaugurated the governing boards of 19 agencies and two universities asking them to carry out their assignments with professionalism, sincerity and patriotism.
“In discharging your responsibilities, you are expected to lead by example – be disciplined and promote discipline; be transparent and accountable and promote transparency and accountability; work hard and promote and reward hard work,” he said.
The minister said leaders have betrayed public trust in previous administration.
He said, “In almost all the agencies of government, before the coming of this administration, impunity was the order of the day and the very people that were entrusted with the business of governance and management of these agencies were the very same people spearheading the abuse of that trust and undermining of these agencies. This has already changed.”
He asked the boards to maintain appropriate and harmonious relationship with their respective managements.
