The Federal Government and the breakaway faction of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Congress of University Academics (CONUA) are currently in a closed-door meeting.
Although, the agenda of the meeting was not made public, it was learnt that both parties were deliberating on the payment of the 8-month withheld salaries during the last strike embarked upon by ASUU.
During the weekend, an internal memo emerged from the office Accountant-General of the Federation requesting details of all members of the union for onward payment.
Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, is presiding over the meeting.
