The Federal Ministry of Water Resources has constructed and rehabilitated 83 water supply facilities, which supply water to about 90,000 households in Bauchi State.
Minister of Water Resources Engineer Suleiman Adamu who disclosed this during a 3-day training of 100 community representatives on operation and maintenance of water supply facilities constructed under the Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene, PEWASH, said the facility is located in Dambam, Darajo and Itas-Gadau local government areas of the state.

The minister said under the partnership, the Bauchi State Government would similarly construct, upgrade and rehabilitate 83 water supply facilities in Kirfi, Giade and Tafawa Balewa LGAs for the benefit of additional 90,000 people.
Represented by Engineer Mohammed Shuaibu Aikali of the technical support services department, the minister tasked the WASHCOM participants to take full control of operation and management of water facilities as well as institute sustainable mechanism for fund raising that would help in addressing challenges that might arise.
Earlier in his remark, the spokesman of RUWASA, Engineer Bala Baba Abdullahi, expressed shock over the removal of tap heads of the solar-powered scheme in Darazo town, saying community leaders must take the blame for such act of vandalism by children.
