The federal government has donated rice and fertiliser to the vulnerable and less privileged individuals in Gombe State.

The items were distributed by the Minister of Transportation, Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali, on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday in Gombe.

Senator Alkali, represented by his Chief of Staff, Umar Ahmed Nafada, confirmed that the donation included two trucks of fertiliser and two trucks of rice, totaling 4,800 bags.

He said the aim of the donation was to ease the current hardships faced by people at the grassroots. “President Tinubu is deeply concerned about the economic challenges affecting the nation. This gesture is part of his commitment to alleviating the difficulties faced by many Nigerians through the provision of essential food items and agricultural support,” Nafada said.

Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Abba Sadiq expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the support.

He said the donation would help in improving food security for vulnerable populations in rural areas and assured that the items would be distributed to those in need.
