‘FG gets more knocks over grazing sites review’
He said, “The much talked about cattle grazing reserve is not in the best interest
More condemnations from Benue State have trailed the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari for the review of grazing sites in 25 states of the country.
The federal government has not yet named the states wherein the committee for the review would ascertain the level of encroachment on grazing sites in an aim to further determine the next line of action.

But the President’s directive had continued to draw the ire of people from Benue State and the latest being another knock from Daniel Gbabo, a Senior Special Assistant (Secondary and Tertiary Education) to Governor Samuel Ortom.
Gbabo, in a statement made available to Daily Trust in Makurdi on Sunday, vowed that the people of the state would explore every legal means possible to protect the land bequeathed to them by their ancestors.
He said: “The much talked about cattle grazing reserve is not in the best interest of this country but rather to further the land grabbing, well known open secret agenda of the herdsmen.
“It is a known fact that land is the most precious resource world over and this people (herders) wants to do everything to grab this natural resource from the locals under the guise of gazetting grazing reserves.
“We strongly want to believe that our state is not among the 25 states named for that evil machinations because our precious resource was bequeathed to us by our ancestors and we’ll also bequeath same to generations yet unborn.
“We will use every legal means at our disposal to continue to preserve our only source of livelihood regardless of whatever agenda.”
