The Federal Government yesterday in Abuja inaugurated a central committee under the banner of “Technical Committee on Nigeria Public Sector Re-Branding” as part of measures to evolve a unified brand identity for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Speaking at the event, the Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Mr. Dasuki Arabi, said the government was concerned at creating a unified master brand architecture to handle government branding centrally to cover all government functions in the MDAs.

According to him, government has in recent times realized that there is no clear brand architecture strategy followed by the various governmental entities, while the decision to ensure that it creates a unified Master brand which can amongst others, make government entities and programmes more recognizable and accessible.

He said the initiative will among others improve the Nations image, building a stronger sense of national unity; delivering digital service; and engender healthy competition in the Public Sector.

He said it would also improve government communication to citizens; re-direct focus on the services provided by government departments, reduce cost and improve efficiency.
