The Federal Government should address all the factors affecting the provision of quality education in the country, a parent, Mr. Obong Ikpe Obong, has said.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the graduation ceremony of Funtaj International School, Mr. Obong said lack of commitment to the sector had led to the fallen standard of education in the country.

He said proper and adequate allocations had not been made to education, but that when a state of emergency was declared in the sector, issues would be taken seriously and there would be better performance.

He said it was clear that the ‘people that matter’ appeared to have neglected public schools.

Obong advised graduating students to remain focused and shun every negative vice as they stepped out to the larger society.

Executive Director of the school, Mrs. Funke Ibrahim, said private schools were complimenting government’s effort in providing quality education and for the  system to thrive, private schools must keep impacting excellent education to the children.
