The Federal Government has commended the pace and quality of rehabilitation work on the Mayo Belwa-Jada-Ganye-Toungo road in Adamawa State.
The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri, stated this when he inspected the rehabilitation work on the road.
The minister, who flagged off the project in August, last year, while assuring the contractor, Messrs Triacta (Nigeria) Limited, of prompt release of funds for the project, also lauded the level of understanding and cooperation extended to the workers by residents and road users.
According to the Federal Controller of Works in Adamawa State, Engr. Salihu Abubakar, the contract, which was awarded at the cost of N22,699,176,016.86 with a 36-month completion period, is presently at 3.5 per cent stage. He added that the Federal Government, on its part, has, to date, certified and paid the sum of N3,404,876,402.5.
While briefing the minister earlier, the Project Manager, Engr. Habib Jrad, expressed gratitude to the government for keeping up with its own part of the contract agreement, assuring that the road would be delivered on time and in tandem with the approved design.
