The Project Director of the Vocation Realise on Agricultural Empowerment Foundation (VRAEF) Ms Joyce Iroka has said that the foundation in partnership with the federal government will empower youths in the country through agriculture.
Iroka said that the objective of the partnership is to eradicate poverty, create jobs and ensure food security.
She said the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh and his Ministry of Information counterpart, Lai Mohammed, have both endorsed the project which is set to employ thousands of young Nigerians.
Ms. Iroka stated that the project is in line with the federal government’s quest to diversify the economy, adding that VRAEF will offer agricultural training and proper dissemination of research outcomes to farmers.
She said that the Ogun State government has already allocated land at Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state for the foundation project to take-off in the state.
“The project will essentially focus on mix-farming, post-harvest activities including the provision of storage structures and provision of laboratories services,” she said.
