FG paying lip service to education – ASUU Abuja zone

 ASUU Abuja zone which made the statement in a press release issued after a meeting to deliberate the ongoing strike, said it was important to understand that adequately funding the universities was non-negotiable.
The statement, signed by the coordinator of the zone. Dr. Sulaiman Mohammed said, “the union will therefore continue with the strike until the government reverses its present posture and fully implements the 2009 FGN-ASUU agreement.”
It appealed to the public, particularly parents and students to understand that “our struggle is in the interest of the nation” to overhaul the education sector.
