Umueri Progressive Forum (UPF) of Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State has appealed to the Federal Government and Governor Charles Soludo to intervene in a land dispute ravaging the community.
UPF President, Ikemba Buchi Diboh, in a statement on Saturday alleged dismantling of a multi-million naira billboard mounted in the town.
Diboh recalled how several attacks carried out by Nsugbe people against Umueri prompted them to put up a billboard, a distance from the boundary area, to stop further attack.
According to him, the Umueri people were still in search of 3 missing persons from the community following the recent invasion by Nsugbe youths.
“The Group is asking the Federal Government to call those who dismantled the Billboard to order, as the place it was mounted was not in any dispute. We are requesting the Federal Government to intervene and save the community from unholy gang up to wipe them out of their inheritance,” he said.
