The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Infrastructure, Ms Imeh Okon, has said the Federal Government has spent about N2.7 trillion on the development of infrastructure in the last three years.

Speaking in Uyo during a high level stakeholders retreat on Public Private Partnership (PPP), Okon said government had to return to the 25 years Master Plan on infrastructural development through public private partnership.

She explained that the policy framework had been on ground, adding that the retreat will bring stakeholders together to deliberate and develop on policies that would be suitable for the country.

She said the Federal Government was committed to the development of infrastructure in the country, adding that infrastructural development enhanced growth.

The presidential aide, said revenue generation was a major challenge since the country depended on oil for revenue and the price of oil was not stable in the international market.

“So far, the Federal Government has invested N2.7 trillion in infrastructure  in the last three years. As you can see some of the dividends have been the N100bn that we have injected into rail project,” she stated.”
