A Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Schools Agricultural Programme (NSAP) Dr. Baraka Sani stated this in Abuja, during a training workshop on horticulture for six pilot schools.
She said that the scheme was aimed at attracting young Nigerians to the farms, adding that the scheme would be implemented in 36 selected schools in twelve pilot states.
Baraka Sani said agricultural enterprises such as poultry, horticulture, aquaculture, livestock farming, food and nutrition, processing and packaging have been established in selected schools.
“Over 4,000 students have been actively involved in piloting the affairs of the Student Agricultural Clubs (SACs) as members,” she said.
