The and federal and Taraba State governments have been advised to disarm and outlaw all militia groups in the state in order to address the rampant communal and religious crises in the state.
The call was made by a community leader in Jalingo, Mallam Yakubu Haruna, in an interview with Daily Trust Saturday.
He described activities of militias as very dangerous to the peace and security of the state and governments should take urgent steps to address the situation.
Yakubu said the Mambilla/Fulani crisis in Sardauna Local Government Area, Jukun/Kuteb crisis and the Jukun/Tiv crisis are some of the crises armed militias had engaged in killing innocent people.
He said the recent amnesty granted militias by the Taraba and Benue State governors without disarming them and outlawing their activities was counter-productive.
